1 Baby, 2 Babies, 3 Babies, 4...

I have had SOOOO much fun lately photographing all these precious new lives that God has created!! They are all so beautiful and precious. With every "fresh from the womb" client I love seeing, holding, listening to, and especially breathing in that newborn smell that only lasts a short while. I have discovered that newborn photography is my passion and what I enjoy doing most, though all stages of life are fun and interesting to capture in their own way. There is something so amazing and overwhelming almost about a new life and I truly want to make it my mission to create "baby art", in a way, with my photography. Though all sessions with a newborn are somewhat unpredictable and, in my experience, all result in everyone needing to change clothes :) I hope to create memories and photographs that you will cherish forever.
For the months of June and July I am offering $100 off either photo package I offer (see the Investment section on my main site for info) for a newborn photo session. If you are due after July but would still like to be able to take part in this offer gift certificates may be purchased during these months reflecting the discount. Here is a little of what I have been up to lately:

Above Your Circumstances

I had the privilege of photographing Pastor David Smith of Grace Pointe Church in Denton, Texas for his newly launched web site: www.aboveyourcircumstances.com. A good friend of mine and amazing designer, Jason Acker, referred David to me because he felt the web site needed photos that would mesh with Jason's artistic flare on the site. I had a great time getting to know Pastor David during our shoot and am pretty sure that, even though he was nervous and uncomfortable at first having a camera in his face for a couple hours, by the end of it all he actually had fun! Thanks David for being patient with the MANY times I said, "One more time" and then followed with 100's of more pics. Hahha! If you get a chance check out Grace Pointe Church in Denton and if you need any kind of graphic design done contact my good friend Jason Acker at: jasonacker@mac.com

Old Town with Addy

I had the priveledge of taking pictures of one of the most adorable little girls on the planet recently. Addy Bug, as her mother adoringly calls her, is definitely a fitting name for this precious child. Not only does she have sassy style but those dimples are to die for!

frogs and snails and puppy dog tails...

It's hard to believe that my baby boy is already 14 months old! I can't get enough of him: his laughter, his rolly polly thighs, his cartoon expressions... I love him so much I think my heart is going to explode most days. Thankfully we are fearfully and wonderfully made and I don't have to ever truly worry about that happening ;) I often decide to disrupt the monotony of my normal routine with an impromptu photo shoot of my mini-me and see just what kind of expressions of his I can capture with my camera. I'm almost always amazed at the results. This is not b/c of my talent but b/c by the end of the shoot I have jumped, leapt, squatted and ducked so many times I feel and look like I just left the gym after a brutal spinning class. Whistled, yelled and made those rediculous noises I used to make when I worked in a photo studio (some of you know the ones ;). And called his name so many times with NO response that I wonder if his hearing needs to be checked (but obviously he just thinks I have gone crazy during the moments I pick up my camera until I put it down so he's trying not to call attention to me for my own sake) Hahah. But BOY oh BOY does he make it look so easy in these following images. Here's to my beautiful blessing:

Old Friends...Good times.

Forgive me to all of you who are true bloggers at heart. I have never been a blogger but am trying to get better at it. Last week was a complete whirl wind. I went to my hometown of Abilene thinking I was going to be there for a couple of days and ended up there for a whole week! Not only did the crazy winter weather tide me over but also the blessing of getting to catch up with old friends. I grew up in Abilene all my life but haven't lived there for 11 years. In all the times I have gone back to visit my family, never have I seen more friends than during this trip. It was amazing getting to catch up with them and reminisce about high school and other things that shall remain between us. Hahah. I know now that I will never lose touch with them again for that long. While I was there I met my friend Sherry's new beautiful baby boy and took a couple shots of him real quick. He is sooooo precious and definitely won me over with those beautiful blues and huge dimples! Congrats again Sherry! See you next time I am in town.

baby Piper

I LOVE LOVE LOVE photographing itsy bitsy tiny toes, fingers, etc... You know what I mean. Ha!  Since having a baby of my own it has become even more of a joy to me to be able to share such beautiful moments with my clients and their new additions. Here are some images from my photo shoot with the beautiful miss Piper. She was soooo sweet and patient with me as I had her moved from place to place, dressed and undressed, etc...

Here's a sample custom birth announcement I created for her. View more @ www.jamierogersphotography.com
